Grand Theft Auto VI is an upcoming single-player open-world action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. It is scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.[1]
Premise
The story centres on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. After a robbery goes wrong, the couple becomes entangled in a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida and must depend on one another to survive.[2]
Their romantic and criminal partnership is the emotional centre of the game. Current material shows that they can operate together or separately, with control moving between them during travel and action.
Setting
The game returns to a modern version of Vice City and expands across the fictional state of Leonida, which is based on Florida. Rockstar has named six principal regions:
Gameplay direction
Rockstar describes the game as the series' largest and most immersive evolution. Official presentations and attributed previews show a more reactive world, a playable couple, expanded crime and police systems, physical character progression, a connected in-game culture, and activities across urban, coastal, wetland and wilderness environments.
