Sourcing policy

From GTA VI Wiki

This wiki documents pre-release information about Grand Theft Auto VI. Accuracy depends on keeping evidence types distinct.

Evidence tiers

[edit]
Tier Meaning Typical sources
Officially confirmed Information published directly by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Official site, Newswire, trailers, showcases, investor releases
Rockstar interview Claims attributed to named Rockstar employees in an identifiable publication. Direct interviews in established publications
Invited preview report A journalist or invited creator's observation from a controlled demonstration. These details may change before launch. Named publications and identifiable invited attendees
Unconfirmed Leaks, anonymous claims, community deductions, rumours, or interpretation not stated by a source. Excluded from factual articles

Editorial rules

[edit]
  • Prefer Rockstar's own material for dates, platforms, names and story facts.
  • Attribute demonstration details to the publication or attendee that observed them.
  • Do not turn screenshots into claims that the image alone cannot prove.
  • Do not present marketing language as a measurable technical fact.
  • Record announcement dates so older statements are not mistaken for the current release plan.
  • Link to the source and paraphrase it; do not reproduce substantial copyrighted text.
  • Correct or remove claims when a newer first-party source supersedes them.
